Apartment, Brooklyn New York (2015)

Renovation and reconfiguration of an existing 850 sf (80 m2) 1-bedroom apartment into a 3-bedroom apartment. Elements including sliding panels and custom built-ins are used to create varying levels of interconnection or privacy between a series of spaces linked by the living/dining area. A key consideration was access to light and views across spaces to the west and south facing windows. The apartment is located in a 1960's multi-storey building a half-block west of Prospect Park, Brooklyn, the 585 acre (237 hectare) public park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux.
